We recently purchased a very nice 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. For about 2 weeks all was fine. Then the warning light came on (yellow circle with capital A followed by an exclamation mark.) We always turn off the auto start/stop before we drive. We have replaced both batteries. The vehicle also stops by itself when we stop at stop signs/red lights--even with the ess turned off beforehand. This is very annoying. We are retired and don't have extra cash lying around lol.

I'd try disconnecting the negative cable from both batteries at the same time for a few minutes. ESS shouldn't be functioning at all if the orange @ light is on so that's a bit concerning. If you don't use ESS and can live with that light, you can leave the negative cable disconnected from the aux battery and drive it like that. ESS will be permanently disabled, but everything else on the van will work just fine. Our van has been this way for almost 5 years without any trouble. No need to replace the aux battery thereafter if you decide to do this. 🙂
