Clunking noise when changing from coasting to accelerating

I hear a clunking noise when transitioning from coasting to accelerating. There is also a lot of play with both front wheels off the ground and in park (may be parking pawl).

Has anyone else heard this noise?
Your front axle nut is loose. It is most likely the driver's side or both. They need to be re-torqued.

I've had no issue with wheel wobble or uneven tire wear. This has been making noise for at least a year and about 20K miles, but it seems to be louder now. I rotated tires today and then did the manipulation of the front tires/wheels.

It sounded about the same when jogging (rotating CW then CCW) both driver and passenger tires/wheels while in park with both tires off the ground. I didn't notice any play in either side (other than rotational)

Thanks, I'll check the axle nut.
The axle nuts getting loose and causing clunking sounds are common issues on both hybrid and ICE.
