Cost for blown head gasket repair - 2017 Pacifica

I’m having the same issue with my Chrysler Pacifica, 2007. my check engine light came on three months ago and it read cylinder misfire. Had new ignition call and spark plugs put in. However, the check engine light still came on. The ignition call and spark, plug, rechecked and tight, everything seemed to work fine, took a road trip for about nine hours and the vehicle tried to overheat. I took it to a new shop and found out that the head gasket is blown. The technician said that the repairs could cost anywhere between $5000-$7000 or more. He did not recommend that I repair it because it has 91K miles on it and I still owe over 24k. However, I am having trouble trading it in because now, it’s only a worth about 11k. This was a high-risk purchase because I wanted the van so badly. I have gap as well as an extended warranty on the vehicle. Therefore, pretty sure that the extended warranty company will pay for the repairs, well, at least some of them. This has been a nightmare! So I’m stuck with a vehicle that needs major repairs yet I still owe a great bit and cannot drive it. I don’t know where to go from here. Help! Any advice is welcome!

Thank you so much for your response. The warranty company is Route 66, and they are very picky with certain repairs. I also had the oil housing done in April, and they didn’t want to pay for that. However, they did, but I had to come out the pocket with for the ignition coil and spark plugs as well as labor. I just don’t know if it’s worth me investing any more money into it. I would like to get it traded, but I will have to come out the pocket for the negative equity.😩
