Crap. What's the likelihood the dealer could do it first thing in the morning if I call them right when they open at 7am Monday? We have prior commitments and need to be back home by 5. Otherwise things will get messy and expensive...

I don't remember the code. The guy plugged the device in and it showed like three of the same thing. The dealership opens at 7, so I'm going to go there first thing and hope they can help quickly. We've got to be out of here and on the road by 11!

Slim to none with the latter being more probable. If the engine still runs fine, just drive it home and don't worry about it. Like I said before, if the code was related to the crankshaft position signal and the engine still runs, the issue is probably minor.

Hello, we have a 2017 Pacifica that on the last hour of our trip decided to turn on the check engine light. I brought it to the local auto parts store today and they checked the computer and it says it's the crankshaft sensor. We need to leave Monday morning to get back home, and it'll be a 6 hour drive. Would it be safe to do so? The van is running fine as far as I can tell, there is no obvious problems. I just don't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere if there's a chance this can progress.

Any crankshaft position error is probably minor if the engine still runs. No crankshaft position sensor signal at all mean no spark which means the engine can't run. What is the code?
