Hello, we have a 2017 Pacifica that on the last hour of our trip decided to turn on the check engine light. I brought it to the local auto parts store today and they checked the computer and it says it's the crankshaft sensor. We need to leave Monday morning to get back home, and it'll be a 6 hour drive. Would it be safe to do so? The van is running fine as far as I can tell, there is no obvious problems. I just don't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere if there's a chance this can progress.

I changed a crank sensor on a 2010 Sebring in under an hour, on a gravel driveway. That’s where it crapped out!
Had some weird misfires before total failure.
I imagine a dealership with a hoist and the right tools could do it quickly!!
