Hi guys, i am very new to this forums let a alone to the mini van life.. I just recently purchased a 2020 hybrid limited 35th anniversary and it crazy how we spend about 50k for it and it doesn’t even come with HIDs and led.. I seen with the non hybrid lots of guys put aftermarket leds and HIDs... I am curious is any of you guys added HIDs or LEDs to your hybrid and how are they working out for you and how difficult to install.. been around HIDs and led for a while just not familiar with this platform so lot of comments and add in definitely will take advice..

The only way to get factory true hid is thru factory . If your willing to slice n dice and put relays and void your warranty there are ways around it . To simply plug in a build and believe that the factory headlight , housing and projector will work is simply not true . The factory headlight is built to specs and works for specific hid and non hid utilization . The throw out and sweep will be compromised ultimately and hence the reason the factory went the led way in 21 . Good luck and drive a new 21 with led , new one with hid and then a retrofit and you’ll see the vast difference .

So when I do I can just add it all in lol.. did you also change out your fog lights to leds? And your there turn and rear light to leds also?

Hey, another Hawaii hybrid owner. The wait for them to get out here is really something, huh?

I'm not going the plug and play route, I've sourced a spare pair of headlights that I'm going to open up and replace the lows and highs with LED projectors. It's just that I never seem to get time to work on them...

I added the GTR Ultra 2 LED's. They are simple plug and play and fit behind the dust cover perfectly. Just make sure that you turn the LED's sideways by loosening the screw on the bulb and twisting it. Its amazing how well these work. I love driving early morning and late night now. Its definitely worth it.

I installed SNGL projector specific version 9005 LED light bulb for the passenger low beam headlight in my 2020 Pachy Hybrid limited 35th anniversary edition.

The result is fantastic.

I kept the driver side factory halogen. Chrysler did a great job in shaping the shield in the projector housing so that there is a positive slope of the top of the light cut off going from the driver side to the passenger side. What this means the light at the far right passenger side is much higher than the driver side. Very useful for finding Bambi lurking on the side of road waiting to ambush unsuspecting drivers. When going through underpasses, I find my passenger side head light on the side wall is twice high as the cars I am following. The sidewall is typically 1 to 1 1/2 cars lanes right of the travel lane. Note my passenger LED hot spot is 3-4 times larger than the driver side. This translates to about 3 times brighter (width) on the passenger side down the road. The reach straight down the road is also much better, but not 3 times better. Maybe 1 1/2 times farther. I have been driving with this set up for 10 months and I have not received a single high beam flash from on coming cars. This means my headlight is not bothering any oncoming traffic.

The SNGL projector mounts the LED so that the light projects UP. Every other LED bulb out are mounted such the light is firing sideways medial and lateral. This would work great in a reflector housing, but we have a projector housing in the Pacifica.

The typical side firing LED light would waste 50% of the light power emitted in our low beam projector as the light from the lower reflector is blocked by the shield. The shied blocks the light shining up from the projector housing and thus not blind on coming traffic. The up firing SNGL LED would use all the light emitting power to shine down the road. Thus, the SNGL would have about twice the light down the road than a similar wattage side firing LED.

From the factory, the passenger light assembly is aimed too low and there was a step off in the light cut off line from driver to passenger. I adjusted the pitch of the Pachy passenger light housing higher so the light cut off line is a continuous smooth line from driver to passenger without any step off.

I am very happy with the SNGL projector specific LED and I find I have no need change the high beam or the driver side low beam. In fact, I am happy to continue to use the halogen on the driver side. I find it more important to have a bright passenger light as I want to see the outside lane maker to avoid driving into a ditch or find that lurking Bambi. Also, there is always some idiot who drives with their high beam on, or improperly aimed LED headlight, and you are forced to look down and right to avoid being blinded. This is when this bright SNGL is very useful on the passenger side. Finally, my wife will always know my car as it has bright white LED headlight on the passenger side, and a dimmer yellow halogen on the driver side. 😃

By the way, I love my Pachy. I am getting 94 mpg when I do not use any gasoline as I can charge at work. The most I have attained is 96 mpg on a nice 60-70 degree days.

I installed SNGL projector specific version 9005 LED light bulb for the passenger low beam headlight in my 2020 Pachy Hybrid limited 35th anniversary edition.
Great info and explanation there. The cost would be prohibitive for me. I swapped mine with side-firing LED bulbs and did notice that the light output was brighter but did not throw out as far, and had a more severe cutoff than halogen. I raised my headlight 720 deg clockwise, and have not had any oncoming drivers high-beam me. I find that the LEDs reflect off of distance surfaces (Stop signs, school buses, jogger vests) much better than halogen - and, they just look much better on the car :)

I have had them installed for about a month on the low beams, and 3 weeks on the high. The entire setup fits behind the dust caps in both the high and low beam. I have not ever had any flicker or other problems. Completely satisfied with the purchase.

Well guys I just place an order in at Headlightrevolution.com .. just ordered about $600 worth of light lol.. for my low beams I got 9005: GTR Ultra 2 LEDs , high beams I got the cheaper 9005: xtreme LED CMB ... when cheaper on these because I hardly ever use high beams due to I live in a city environment, and for my fogs i did the H11: S-V.4 yellow LEDs.. definitely not cheap.. but form all the resources and research I been digging up on I know they will definitely be well worth it, I figure I spent almost $55k on the van the best of the best can’t cheap out on cheap lights lol.. will keep you guys posted when the my van comes in and I have a chance to install all the lights.. also will be doing all my turn, rears and backup in leds also, just got to get an order together for it..

So just to clarify the PacHy uses 9005 for both low and high beams & a H11 for the fogs correct?

Id rather have halogens with GTRV2 leds swapped than factory HID, the D3S design SUCKS, worst performing factory hid ive ever seen. The LED fogs are excellent though and the limited LED DRL is better that's the positive. I need to upgrade factory bulbs but CBI/CBB's are like $200-225 for the pair. I don't drive much at night so I just leave it.

That just about what I paid for all the leds in that picture.. low beam, high beams, fogs, front turn, rear tails, side markers and still waiting for my reverse to come in also from GTR lighting... I figure I pull the trigger now then later lol I know it’s definitely going to be worth it in the long run also , we got some appointments for the car to get to fully tinted , exterior and interior ceramic coated once landed ... can’t wait ..

I did it, and I'm glad I did. I ordered the Ultra 2 GTR headlights, DRL (doubles as high beam), and fog lights. WOW! What an amazing difference! I only need to read more about adjusting the beam pattern for the high beam lights. It throws light way up into the trees and is much rather have it concentrated farther down the road. Maybe there's no adjusting it because it's the DRL as well. I want to order the taillights and reverse. I ordered taillights with this order but they sent me the wrong bulbs. I need to return them.

Just got my van picked up from the docks. And not even 8hrs of having it is all ready all LEDs upgrade it and ceramic tinted..

this is the 9005 low beams

here it is LED installed with the driver box and connections wire all tucked away inside the housing before putting back the dust cover

not a great picture but here is a sample of my beam pattern of the 9005 GTR Ultra 2 low beam in the projectors and H11 SV.4 yellow fogs.. both very nice beam pattern and very bright .. definitely worth very penny.. now this is how it should come from factory.. also did my led front turn signals, led side markers and led rear tails and led reverse..

What type of lights you using in front turn signal? They look white in these photo. You got a switchback in there?

Reviving this thread as I am looking to upgrade my low beams to LED as well. Both the LED lights recommended on this thread - the SNGL and the GTR Ultra 2 are quite expensive. Are those the only two choices to get a good lighting pattern? Does anyone here have a recommendation for a cheaper set of low beam LED headlights that work reasonably well?

Honestly, it definitely worth your money in the long runs...You probably use your low beams 90% of the time while driving at night.. I think for $200 a pair of GTR Ultra 2 it’s a tad pricey at first but the quality and performance of the headlight are just amazing... there are lots of cheaper led headlights bulbs on the market like eBay, Amazon but nothing quality and performance unknown, hate to spend $100 for a pair and they are ficker out , they are to dim to use as driving lights with incorrect beam pattern etc. and now you end up try to buy another brand to replace the ones you just bought. Now your out more money while is still unknown... so in the long run better to spend the money up front knowing your are getting exactly what you pay for... just my 2cents🤷🏻‍♂️

Here it is installed , and the beam pattern ... low beams is GTR Ultra 2 and fogs are yellow SV.4 all LED plug and play.. about 30mins install for both

First of all I have no idea why our Hybrid Pacifica even came with Halogens form factory know it’s not efficient you efficient at all.. I get it the cost for it but hey we are paying close $45-60k for the van I expected it to have at least LEDs for the tail light and side markers ect.. and HID headlights.. but halogens are so old and cheapest way to cost the cost.. I would stay away for the halogens if I was you.. after time the whitish color fade plus The stock halogens are probably brighter than the whitish color .. I would just leave it stock or upgrade to LEDs and at that point just get the GTR ultras and you will be happy with the results and your will for about the money you spend for it in a month from now lol.. but I guarantee you you’ll like the beam pattern and performance of it
