The result is fantastic.
I kept the driver side factory halogen. Chrysler did a great job in shaping the shield in the projector housing so that there is a positive slope of the top of the light cut off going from the driver side to the passenger side. What this means the light at the far right passenger side is much higher than the driver side. Very useful for finding Bambi lurking on the side of road waiting to ambush unsuspecting drivers. When going through underpasses, I find my passenger side head light on the side wall is twice high as the cars I am following. The sidewall is typically 1 to 1 1/2 cars lanes right of the travel lane. Note my passenger LED hot spot is 3-4 times larger than the driver side. This translates to about 3 times brighter (width) on the passenger side down the road. The reach straight down the road is also much better, but not 3 times better. Maybe 1 1/2 times farther. I have been driving with this set up for 10 months and I have not received a single high beam flash from on coming cars. This means my headlight is not bothering any oncoming traffic.
The SNGL projector mounts the LED so that the light projects UP. Every other LED bulb out are mounted such the light is firing sideways medial and lateral. This would work great in a reflector housing, but we have a projector housing in the Pacifica.
The typical side firing LED light would waste 50% of the light power emitted in our low beam projector as the light from the lower reflector is blocked by the shield. The shied blocks the light shining up from the projector housing and thus not blind on coming traffic. The up firing SNGL LED would use all the light emitting power to shine down the road. Thus, the SNGL would have about twice the light down the road than a similar wattage side firing LED.
From the factory, the passenger light assembly is aimed too low and there was a step off in the light cut off line from driver to passenger. I adjusted the pitch of the Pachy passenger light housing higher so the light cut off line is a continuous smooth line from driver to passenger without any step off.
I am very happy with the SNGL projector specific LED and I find I have no need change the high beam or the driver side low beam. In fact, I am happy to continue to use the halogen on the driver side. I find it more important to have a bright passenger light as I want to see the outside lane maker to avoid driving into a ditch or find that lurking Bambi. Also, there is always some idiot who drives with their high beam on, or improperly aimed LED headlight, and you are forced to look down and right to avoid being blinded. This is when this bright SNGL is very useful on the passenger side. Finally, my wife will always know my car as it has bright white LED headlight on the passenger side, and a dimmer yellow halogen on the driver side. 😃
By the way, I love my Pachy. I am getting 94 mpg when I do not use any gasoline as I can charge at work. The most I have attained is 96 mpg on a nice 60-70 degree days.
