Hi all,

New to the forum and the brand! I just picked up a 2017 Limited with 16k miles. So far I'm pretty happy but have a few questions. The main one is hesitation when leaving a light. It seems to want to hesitate a little going through some of the first few gears and sometimes shifts a little hard going into 3rd or 4th. I've read some things on re-flashing the transmission firmware. Not sure if that will help or not. I did have them get the latest update on the Uconnect stereo yesterday as it seemed to be having some issues sending my phone calls to the speakers when connected. It has every extra known to man, so I'm probably going to look into an extended warranty too. I'll take any advice you have, thanks!

Congrats on the purchase. Great color combo!!
As for the transmission, some shifting issues is no new story and this applies to literally all brands including the Honda as well. My wife has the Pacifica and hers has been great, but the 8L45 in my 2017 Cadillac ATS has had its share of hickups. I had a newer Grand Cherokee with the 8spd and it also had a couple issues. Mainly a harsh 1-2 shift when cold (first shift of the day).
Both my Grand Cherokee and my cadillac fixed the shifting issues with the dealer performing an adaptive relearn procedure. This is different than just flashing updated software. This might be what you want to look into next.

You say you have "hesitation" after a stop light.
I could be wrong, but I believe that is the Stop-start feature of the car. When you come to a complete stop the engine shuts off to save gas, as soon as you remove your foot from the brake the engine re-starts.
And you can sense a little 'hesitation'.
This can be defeated but you have to do this every time you start the car. It is the button, center dash, the capital A with the circled arrow arrow it. Depress it until the blue light is showing.

Maybe his doesn’t even have start/stop. Not all 2017’s do. Mine is an early build and we do not have start/stop. However if it does then yes this could explain the hesitation type feeling, although you would think someone would know the difference between a hesitation from the start/stop feature or an actual problem.

No worries! Yes, mine does have start/stop, but I'm not a fan so I turn it off after every start so it's not that. It's something else and it's not big hesitation, but I notice everything if it's not super smooth.

Thanks LongTime. I'll have to look up the build date and add it. I'm located in South Florida and the only service records I have are the regularly scheduled maintenance that shows on the Carfax.
