Is it fairly easy going through the glove box hole to replace?.. You wouldn't happen to have the part number do you?... Thank u
68164960AA worked for my 2018 limited

I just did it last week. The process is fairly trivial, just tight spaces and you really can't see what you are doing when it comes to the actual actuator.

From memory:
1. Remove glovebox door. Open door, push the top tabs inward to let it all the way out of the console. Remove the soft-open little cord thing. Door will come all the way down and fall off the hinge.
2. Remove carpet lining thingy. I think there were 3 push-pin fasteners holding it in. Push the lil dot in the middle to release.
3. Remove bottom air duct. Two philips screws i think. (might be able to skip this step)
4. Remove cabin filter door to give you a little extra wiggle room
5. Actuator is to the left of the cabin filter box, There are two bolts holding it in.
6. When putting the new one in, you have to get the rotation just right for the shaft to line up. So rotate the new actuator until it slides in, then rotate actuator again to align bolt holes. Might as well where a blind fold during this step.

Great thank you very much for the info its appreciated, I'm gonna look into it this week all this clicking is driving me crazy I have the '18 Touring L I'm not rich like you but I'm sure it will fit the same.. I'll make sure to stop at Wallmart and buy a Blindfold:cautious:

Hey there Knee Deep and putting this actuator in Man what a pain You have to be Gumby. The actuator spindle is in a different position then the old one Do you remember if after you put the new one in was the baffle resting all the way back In that position With the car off? Or don't worry about it as long as you can line it in and get the bolts Straight that's the right way And it will figure itself out

Thats basically the route I took. I fiddled with the actuator rotation and tried manually moving the little flapper thing too to get it in. I think I ended up with the flapper thing towards you? So, closed over the filter. After I got the shaft in, got one bolt loosely secured, I turned the recirc function on and off and watched the flapper. All looked good. Then got the 2nd bolt in and tightened up.

Yup that's just what I did. Its stinks because the spline on the old one was in a different position than the new one so to line it up the flapper was positioned over the filter so it would fit and not resting back like the old one.. For more hand room (which was desperately needed) I took out the plastic vent tubing next to the actuator and dropped it down from under the glove box or else I couldn't have got to that back bolt.. it's funny once installed 5 minutes later the flapper dropped back on its own.... Now my neck and back hurts from a that contorting.. I attempted it because of your thread so thank you and hopefully no more clicking..$15 part so much aggravation:LOL:.

And that is why as I get older, and hopefully wiser, I spend the money and let the 'experts' do the work. More power to you youngsters out there.

And mine is still under warranty, I just compare the hassle of getting our family vehicle to the dealer and doing it myself. Fortunately, I have a dealer pretty close, for a recall I just walked back and rode a bike there to pick it up. Too cold for me to do that now.

I didn't think about that maybe it could have been a recall and they could have fixed it. I'm a little over my warranty now for the 36000 miles or else I would have had them do it

If 53 is young, I did it yesterday and can barely walk today🥴
Well...Age is relative. At 69, you are young to me. :p At 53, I was still working and could twist, turn and lift a lot more than I can now.

We have been having a rhythmic clicking sound that almost sounds like a small washing machine that occurs when we turn the van off. It sounds like it is coming from the dash. The sound shuts off after about two minutes and only occurs when the vehicle is off. If you open a door, the sound starts up again. Otherwise, the vehicle has been running fine. Has anyone else experienced this? 2018 Hybrid 10,000 miles. All recalls and RRT’s completed with no issues found.
Did you ever figure out what this could be? My van is now doing this

It's the blend door actuator. Cheap part but you have to take down the glove compartment box and it's to the left. Thers 3 bolts you have to get to kind of tight space.. Apparently these are faulty from the dealership and they keep clicking for a while even though the key is off and if you open a door it starts it up to for a little while. This is the fix I just did mine on my 18. I attached a picture below

Hi Jmm11 and ogremustcrush,
I understand how this might be concerning. If you are able to replicate this concern and would like to have your dealers look into this, you can also send us a private message where we can provide our extra assistance while your vehicles are being serviced.

I have this same exact sound in my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica we just bought. This click, click, click sound is annoying and drives me crazy when I have to sit and wait in the vehicle for anyone. It can be heard when I turn the engine off. I haven't noticed it going off even after waiting for awhile.

I had the same problem on my 18 that i just posted the fix is just a blend door actuator you have to go through the glove box it's not the end of the world the part number and what you need is on the picture I downloaded

Just left alone could this make it to where my van doesn’t want to start? Very randomly it’s like it decides to not start and I have to have it jumped off. But other times it starts just fine. I’ve had the battery checked and they said it is fine but in random places I am getting stranded without a car that will start

The blend doors making noise is in no way connected to the vehicle not starting.

When the vehicle will not start, does it try, or does it not even turn over? When your batteries were checked, did they disconnect the aux battery from the main by disconnecting the negative terminal. If not, the results are flawed. You may need to get them checked again.

What year is your vehicle? Maybe the fob batteries are failing.

If you can add your vehicle details to your forum signature it can help us help you going forward.

Replacing that part is exactly what I needed for this symptom as well.

For those doing it themselves in the future - make sure you are replacing the actuator that seems to be almost connected to the cabin air filter NOT the one that is connected to the central console (that's the ac/heating actuator and if you accidentally take it off and reinstall it incorrectly, you're stuck with heat or air and have repeat the process again 😢)
