2022 PHEV Pacifica Clicking Noise

Clicking noise coming from underneath the car below the driver seat location.
Happens all the time while driving in the range of 5 – 35mph; when the foot is quickly taken off the gas pedal and when the gas pedal is depressed again. One click noise each time. It does not happen when driving in reverse.
Also happens in Adaptive Cruise Control mode in the speed range of 5-35mph.
This clicking noise has been there since new, 1/7/2023.
Brought to the local (California) dealer several times. He noticed and acknowledged the problem. They also noticed the same issue in brand new 2023 PHEV Pacificas .
They elevated the issue up the corporate ladder, in their words:
"Stellantis Tech Advisor (name) involved as well along with STAR, which is our online technical advisory system all working with us on this issue."
That was 7 weeks ago. No words back.

Clicking noise could be travelling under the vehicle because of the aero shield . I would ask dealer to see if any heat shields are misaligned or misshaped underneath . I can’t hear the noise so it’s hard to hear the exact click but I’d start with that , aeroshield or underbody heat shields .

Hello @Ryahalom!

We would like to look into this matter further. To do so, can you please share your VIN and case number (if issued)? Thank you so much.

Have you spoken to your dealer about this at all? Feel free to send us a private message if you'd like to discuss further.

My 2017 Pacifica (gas) is in the shop awaiting a compressor and I got a rental from Hertz (courtesy of the Chrysler dealership) - a 2022 Pacifica plug in Hybrid With about 39000 miles. And I noticed the same clicking noise when I drove it today. I have not driven a plug in hybrid before and was not sure if this was normal or not. It seemed to go away once I accelerated when out of our neighborhood (that has 35 mph max restrictions).

Replacing the axle nuts temporarily fixed mine. I need to bring it back the my dealer again as it's exactly the same as before.
IMO it's either the axle nut or driveshaft/axle/bearing. The only other thing would be the transmission itself, differential or motor mount, but it wouldn't explain how replacing the axle nut fixed mine temporarily.

Did you ever find the unredacted info on this? My dealership confirmed an issue on mine and has opened a Star Case for engineering guidance. They said when they put the van on the rack they could reproduce the noise by just manhandling the wheels. I told them I've seen reports of it but would provide details to their email if I found something more. They said it sounds like the sound is coming from the hybrid transmission (I seem to remember another comment from this forum about the transmission too but I'm not sure if that was this thread or not).

I updated in other threads, but sharing here for completeness:

My issue came back a few months after replacing the axle nuts. The dealer let me drive a brand new 2023 PacHy on their lot that was worse then mine, so they said no point in replacing parts.

So the replaced both axles nuts again, over torqued them slightly and added a second nut on top to lock them in place. They marked the nuts to see if they ever come loose again.

It's been quiet ever since. Will update if this issue ever comes back.

i've got a 2022 PHEV with ~30k miles on it and i have the same sound. I brought it to the dealer and they acknowledged the sound, could hear it themselves, but said it was normal. Since then, i've send the TSB referred to earlier in this thread, 9100174, and plan on going back to the dealer to look at this again. The sound does not seem normal... especially when you dont get the sound at higher speeds.

UPDATE January 2024: Brought car back to dealer with the TSB, 9100174, referred to earlier in the thread. Dealer again acknowledged the sound and is going to replace both front Axel Shafts (Axle Half Shaft, right and left). One of them (right or left) is on backorder with unknown ETA. They gave me the car back and will call when the parts come in. I will update if this fixes the sound.

There is a sound coming from manhandling the wheels, but those are normal as far as I know. Both my 18 and 22 make that sound, and the 18 would sometimes do it at low speeds and when engaging forward and reverse. That one is a distinctive thunk which sound like the electric motor moving back and forth. This is different than the clicking I observed from the interior at low speeds on the driverside axle.
I was not able to find further documents no.
I have a 2022 PHEV with 6500 miles and the same clicking sound recently started. The dealer checked it out and I was told it is coming from the transmission separator plate. I was also told that they have had a few other customers with the same issue, and it is a "normal characteristic". It doesn't seem normal to me.
Dealer called and let me know that the engineers decided after working with their tech and reviewing the videos sent in that a new transmission was required to fix this clunking sound when going over bumps and when getting on and letting off the gas, which was repeatable by lifting the van and manhandling the front wheels. I don't have access to the Star Case notes yet but they said they could provide those to me. The engineers sent the transmission without even notifying the dealership it was coming or that was their final decision on the matter so I'll have to wait for the details. Install is scheduled on the 30th with a free loaner! I'll post another update when the work is complete.
