I have a 2017 Pacifica, intermittently the air conditioner only blows hot air. it does not code for a sensor problem, and since its intermittent, they dont see a problem. Anyone else having issues?

Also having my driver side sliding door corrected. After closing it tends to open up one additional time requiring a second closing.

There is a known issue with intermittent A/C (I think an internal short in the clutch, but don't hold me to it.) I don't mean short term intermittent --mine was out 3 days and of course started working as I turned the corner to enter the service area. It took the dealer nearly 3 weeks to have it misbehave.

Here is one of posts (post #9 in thread) with the link:

I don't know how these known issues work with extended warranties, but it may be worth bringing it up to get the deductible waived. Sorry about missing the post last week -- with this COVID19 situation my inbox has exploded from all direction and have been cherry picking the inbox.

We have a 2017 and have been hearing a rattling noise coming from the engine bay for a while now. While on the way home today my wife said she heard a "pop", then the A/C stopped blowing cold air. Now the rattling noise has stopped. Does anyone know if;
1. This is treated like a recall and fixed on FCA's dime?
2. If it actually the compressor, or is it the clutch assembly?

Thanks.

Now we at least know where the noise was coming from....gotta enjoy the small victories at times.

I’ve got 2018 Pacifica and have the same problem. First of 3 trips to the dealership they checked for leaks found Freon low added more. Second trip found leak around condenser. Now on my third trip they are saying within dealer specs, they are evacuating and refilling now, according to the forum sounds like a compressor. I just want cold air when I want not when it wants to give me cold air.

The door module was reprogrammed. The only thing that will fix the A/C is a new compressor. Mine is working like it should now. From what I've read there's an internal sensor in the compressor that is bad and the only way to fix it is to replace the whole compressor. It didn't throw any codes so dealership might say nothing is wrong. There's a bulletin out about A/C issues on these Van's. Good luck

The same issue that is plaguing all auto manufacturers since Covid hit. The auto manufacturers anticipated sales would go down, so they cut orders with suppliers. When auto buyers were actually purchasing more vehicles, it was too late to reverse the cancelled parts orders. So everything is still playing catch up.

Also the reduced work forces at the parts manufacturers due to workers being out with Covid has affected parts production.

It is not just your AC compressor.

My 2018 is having this same issue- A/C was working real good until they fixed the Stop/Start option which was code (installed a new battery) Stop/Start now works but A/C is intermittently working, it also has a new compressor FYI- I have read all these post but see no real solution did I miss something? (All repairs at dealership)

I have a 2017 Pacifica that had the same problem a few years ago and I noticed today it is back. I had a new compressor installed by the dealer and l guess looking at this again. Chrysler did pay half my bill last time. There should be a law that these companies either have to pay for problems that are consistent with their product. I had problems with the ac from three different vehicles in my days. All of them were Chrysler products.

So we have a 2017 Limited. We are having auxiliary battery issues for 5th x in 6 years. Cannot get in to dealer until 8th of Aug, and right now they have no batteries. Now our A/C is not blowing at all, hot air and sounds like it is suck in defrost mode. This battery has affected many other items in the car. When is Chrysler going to do something about this?? Called customer care with absolutely no concern or help. Could this **** thing be affecting the a/c too?

In another thread, @ChryslerCares had posted about owners who are having similar AC issues to contact them privately.
