Found a paint bubble on our less than 1 year old Pacifica. Our local dealer is waiting on Chrysler to approve the repair. Hoping for a fast turn around to get this fixed before it gets worse.
Bubbling Paint Issue on Hood

Bought my 2017 brand new and it has started with the bubbling on the leading edge of the hood, drivers side. What is the status of this issue with out of warranty vehicles?

I have the same problem on a 2020, still within warranty but our local dealer here doesn't do body work so I have to drive 150 mi to the nearest dealer.
Does anyone know how long it takes to fix these?
I'd have to drive it up to the dealer to drop it off, rent a car to drive back then go back and get it. Ridiculous. I don't even know if they would take it in right away if they decided they were going to repair it so I might have to make two trips up and back.

That is strange my local dealership also does not have a body shop. But, when I brought in my 2018 for the same problem. They made arrangements with a local body shop (actually owned by a friend).
And gave me a rental while mine was being worked on.

They said that they didn't have an arrangement with a body shop. So I have to take it north. Key West has some perks but being close to anything isn't one of them.

There's only 1 Chrysler dealer here and they said that they don't have a body shop nor do they have a partnership with any of the local body shops. (Which there's only two or three maybe).
They told me I had to take it to the Chrysler dealer near Miami which is a 3+ hour drive...
If I want to fix it, I'm going to have to I guess...

Or you can PM @ChryslerCares to see if they can work with your local dealer and a local body shop. Your local dealer should at least be able to get the claim registered and approved for you. Just because the dealer does not have an arrangement with any local body shop, should not necessary mean they cannot work with one.

I'm going to try that. I made 2 appointmens with local dealer and the first they didn't get to it in 2 days and I had to pick it up. The 2nd one, they said no body shop and no deal with local ones. Maybe if I Call Chrysler, they will deal with the dealer.

Your most likely past the 5 year warranty coverage.
but if your the original owner I’ve heard some people say they got some help on the cost of repair.
Mine happened at the 3 year mark I was the second owner and the dealer repaired it under warranty. They even gave me a free loaner.
i have the same thing. is there a recall on this? mine is a 2017.
front hood from our 2021 bubbled too and they replaced the hood just about 6 months ago. It seems like a known issue but they will not handle as a recall.

It is not a safety concern.
So it will never be a recall.
But, there is a bulletin about it.

A seven year old vehicle is not going to get repaired by Chrysler. Unfortunately you will be on the hook for these repairs.

I noticed some bubbling in early April 2024 on wife's 2018. Purchased new by me in May, 2018, so six years old. Called Chrysler Cares with no expectations. They opened a case file and, some time later, called back and asked me to take it to a dealership for analysis. Service advisor took pics and determined the corrosion was not only on the visible outside leading edge of the hood, but also in the inside seam, so recommended new hood. He sent pics on to Chrysler Cares who called a week or so later and offered to cover some of the cost since I was original owner and the vehicle had just under 60k miles at the time. It turned out they were willing to negotiate, so I ended up paying 27% and Chrysler covered the rest for a new painted and installed hood. I believe they were perfectly fair considering the warranty had expired a year before.

When I took my wife's Pacifica to the dealer, the service rep said the factory panels were not prepped and painted correctly and that the new panel we were getting from their body shop would be much better. One can only hope that the factory has corrected the prepping and painting process by now.
