That's great news! Thanks for the update. Wondering if the parts can be found on a totaled 18 and swapped out without issue or if infotainment needs to program something specifically.

I thought I remembered seeing a post of someone that tried this very thing, and the unit wouldn’t turn on at all. I could be wrong though.

The UAV performed very well during the commute. The only bug I found was when I tried to "activate" the Connect services, which resulted in the CarPlay functionality getting disabled and Bluetooth also stopped functioning until I re-paired the phone. CarPlay did not start working again until I turned the car off and waited for aux power to turn off (effectively making the next car-start reboot the UAV). I have not found the magic key combo to soft-reboot the UAV (the RA4 was the mute button + the select button held for 10-15 seconds). If anyone knows what key combo reboots the UAV, please let me know!
Guess I'll have to do a series of posts to post all the photos. Attached are two pics of the head unit.

The image on the left is the old (RA4) unit. The arrow is pointing to the terminal where an orange cable was connected. Infotainment said this cable did not need to be connected to the new UAV unit. On the right, the picture of the UAV unit with an arrow pointing to what Infotainment says is a diagnostic port (and therefore can be ignored -- no connection).

Just to sum up: Infotainment sent me (1) The head unit, (2) The screen unit preinstalled in a brand new faceplate that did NOT include the vents (I had to transfer them from the original one in the car -- no big deal, just 4 hex screws per vent), (3) A video cable. There was no harness included because the existing harness fit in the UAV perfectly. There were also no instructions, just a sheet that described return instructions and whom to call for help.

That is cool!

From their site, it seems like if you don’t have Nav, you can upgrade and get Nav with just the head unit swap? It seems like GPS is already built in and just not used even for vehicles that don’t currently have Nav?

So it looks like it's not as easy as a quick swap. Installed everything and the back light of the display comes on but nothing comes up. I plug in my phone via USB and my phone goes through the setup for android auto but nothing shows up on the UAV screen. I went through the center info screen to radio and I get the "radio locked" message. Wondering if I can find a service department that would unlock it and if that's the only hurdle to overcome.

So i think I'm getting somewhere...I was able to get the unlock pin for the radio I purchased and after hours of searching the internet haphazardly I believe I finally found the video interface cable that infotainment includes in their bundle. It's a FAKRA HSD B male to male cable. I ordered it but it's coming from China so who knows how long it will take. Estimated arrival from the other items they sell on ebay is 30-45 days. I've included the link for reference. I'll update the thread when I get it.

Interesting. I did accidentally connect the wrong video cable (into the screen-- the other end wasn't connected) and I saw the same thing-- the backlight turned on and no video. When I used the cable they sent, all was good (I never did try using the original cable though).

The unlock code was actually written on my head unit and on a business card they included but amazingly I didn't need it.

BTW, I noticed a deficiency with the new unit. In 2018, Uconnect access was replaced by SiriusXm Guardian and it looks like there might be another module or something missing for guardian such that it just doesn't work when the radio is installed in this car. I need to call Infotainment to verify and I'll report back what they say.

Let us know how it goes when you get the cable!

The cable has shipped. Woohoo. I'll update the thread when I get it.

I sort of recall seeing info on a separate 4g LTE module in the 2018s. Likely what’s needed.

Are you swapping the unit from a 2018 Pacifica or are you using the Infotainment one?
I got one from a salvage yard to see if you can bypass the infotainment route.

I'd love to know more about that. Can you point me to where you read that? I assumed the radio was in the head unit but it's certainly possible that's not the case for 2018. The alldata for the 2018s aren't out yet otherwise I'd look there first ?.

So did you get the cable yet and have you tried it or is it still on a slow boat? ?

So the cable arrived and it fits perfectly but my wife is out of town with the Pacifica until Monday...ughh. will update as soon as possible. Happy Thanksgiving fellow Pac owners.

So the cable finally arrived and it worked! The screen came on and showed the radio was locked. I input the lock code that I received from a friend and it unlocked the radio. My friend did tell me that if you start the car and wait long enough the lock code would go away. I was impatient and couldn't wait plus I had the code so...as @Sethmeister had stated, doing anything with uconnect services breaks android auto and you either have to wait for the van to fully go to sleep or you can pull and reset fuse F76 under the hood and that resets it. Everything else works perfectly so far. I'll update this thread if I experience any issues. I'm finally 100% satisfied with the van. My only regret about getting a 17 was the lack of android auto.

I ordered the display and processor from http://www.car-part.com. I'm guessing stock # AX5097 will work but I'm not sure why it says no nav and xm radio.
The cable is https://www.rfstreet.com/ch_contentd.asp?id=3252. It's pretty long in it's standard size and it looks like you can request a shorter size than the standard. I would say one foot is plenty.
I'm guessing the orange cable that isn't used is the 3g data cable so it has no place on the new processor. it wont pug into the new unit because each color coded connector has its own profile so it's not accidentally plugged into the wrong port. I don't know if you can get a cable that has an orange connector on one side and whatever color the 4g connector is on the other side and if the data would actually work. I don't care about any of those services so I'm not putting any effort into figuring it out at this time.
