Does anyone know why the driver side LED strip in the headlight is not working? The low & high beams work fine in that headlight, just the LED strip is not working.

Someone on here outlined how they were able to bake the headlight to gain access to the LED circuits and resistors with the caveat that it was a major PITA and not guaranteed to fix the issue. So, to answer your question, yes, replacing the unit is most likely your only option.

My guess is the cost will make you ignore the burnt out strip lol

Can you turn the DRLs off?

Actually, not as bad as I thought, $400, $550 if it has HIDs which I dont think the Touring L does:

You could get a used one off a totalled Pacifica. Here's one for $240:

There are two modules. One inside the light - not serviceable without disassembling the headlight. One on the outside. Both diodes transmit light through the acrylic. There is no strip. Do a search. Multiple people have found the outer one with a burned diode. Limiteds have 6 diodes on the outer one. That's why they're brighter and eligible for DRLs.

Hello, Hidalgo11! This can happen because of different reasons. One of the reasons can be a problem with the driver's side electricity system. The second reason can be the defect in the led lights from the driver's side. In any case, you should approach your car dealer and see what they can do to fix this issue. Also, I would recommend you replace these led lights with the [spam link removed by mod] and you can find many of them at sites like Amazon or other lighting related sites.

I know this thread has eased down, but I'm curious if there's been any confirmation that the module may be the answer to fixing the LED 'strip'? I've already lost the warranty battle after 3 times back and forth with the dealership and Extended Warranty company. "Sealed light fixtures" are not covered. :/

Well, as promised, following up, and with good news - my LED strip is FINALLY FIXED! Thanks again @Greyrock, wouldn't have been able to do this without your guidance.

NOTES:
  • As per my plan, I first tried only the Headlight Ballast Control Module (Part Number = 147000015100) tested, and it worked!
  • I'd still had the LED DRL Headlight Ballast (Part Number = 6002TP0105) ready to go, but ended up not needing it. May send it back to the seller for a partial refund.
  • The bumper removal and entire process took all of 1 hour, and I didn't have my power drill charged or it could have been much quicker honestly. There were no gotcha's based off the YouTube videos out there on getting to the headlight. Also, I had no screws or clips laying around after the job, so that is a testament of how painless and easy it should be!
So, TLDR: If your LED Strip is out, but it flickers quickly several times when you start the vehicle or turn on the headlights, the above may be your fix---for under 20 bucks.

Good luck to any one that comes across this post, and feel free to DM me on here if any questions on the process! 😄

I have 2017 limited. Drivers side LED strip would flicker when I started it. Replaced both modules from ebay as mentioned above. Unfortunately for me, the problem remains. 😒 It is a sucker punch as my only path I know of is a new or "working" light assembly. I could run with it not working as I have for the entire summer but it drives me crazy!

We are in the same boat with the driver side flicker, sounds like it's just the module. However, since it's part of the lamp assembly, I can't see why this isn't a warranty repair for us. We bought the extended Mopar warranty. It says it covers assemblies but not bulbs. Dealer charged $180 to say it needed replaced and not covered under warranty. I had the dealer reverse the $180 charge because I disagree with them. I'm not sure how to get someone in Mopar to reverse that diagnosis since it's not likely the LED at all...any thoughts before I pull this bumper off myself?
