The only ways to turn off the halo (signature) lights are to find a competent dealer that knows how to do it, or get an OBD2 Bluetooth device, a security gateway bypass module, and buy AlfaOBD from the Android play store. Then on your phone, after everything is connected set Signature Light Present: to "No"

These work just fine for the job.

 

Thanks for the info! Very interesting and seems like a viable work around... though a bit complicated for something that should just be in the vehicle's headlight settings!

 

The driveway situation is just an example of smart cars being too smart for their own good. If the driveway scenario was the only possible time this was an undesirable feature, I think we'd make do. But there are many other times when it is not desired, as @pure_insanity mentioned. Therefore, it seems to make sense to have a discussion about workarounds or getting Chrysler to give this control back to the the vehicle owner via the settings.

Try going to a drive-in movie or drive-through Christmas lights with those freaking lights blasting out the front.

This is my current solution while I’m out on the road. Marine grade leather, backed with gorilla duct tape, and stuck on with painters tape. Cost me about $12 total.

 

I made covers and forgot to take them off 1 morning. They didn't stay on at 75 MPH.

Drls serve a purpose and there are a lot of state/ province laws that require them from driving through construction zones , visibility , weather events , etc .

Yes but as you will find in every single one of the posts and complaints (if you actually take the time to read them) this has nothing to do with DRLs. These signature light features are merely that - a feature. It’s purely decorative. And on the 2021s and newer there is no way to turn it off.

The DRLs are something completely different. And in fact the DRLs can also be turned off in the Uconnect menu. This is why there have been so many complaints for so long.

 

So are we talking about halo or drl lights ? . Surprised nobody has mentioned the led light bar across the rear back hatch . The bull bar does look out of place but to each their own , it’s a people mover not a off road vessel . And if you hit something with it your lower font fascia garnish where module sits , would be toast . That bull bar would be bolted to the front underside cradle and only be relative to small animals like raccoons and skunks .

 

Its been repeatedly mentioned in this post and all of the others - this is for the Signature Halo lights.

And also the irony of people dissing a modified minivan for being uncool on a forum for minivans - which are not the coolest to begin with, is kind funny.

People here do lift kits, lowering kits, big wheels, small wheels, tint, wraps, chrome, blackout, etc... So it's probably not best to be throwing stones in a glass house.

Again not a DLO issue, and I can’t stress this enough. The DLO can be disabled in the Uconnect menu because not all regions/local laws require them. This is a decorative led strip, and according to other owners, could be disabled in the 2020 and prior years in the uconnect menu.

I could be wrong here but it appears you're talking about the daytime running lights or drls? They may have changed it but under my 17 and 18 pacificas you can go to settings and uncheck the box under daytime running lamps and they should turn off. They also should turn off when the car is not in drive. When I put mine in park they turn off. Doesn't mean they might have changed the programming or your location as different requirements but you might go to your settings under lights and look for that

 

Please please please read the entirety of the thread before replying. I dont mean this in a negative way because you may have just skimmed through, but the DRL response has come up multiple times in this tread.

So it seems as though in the 2017-2020 years, the DRL for the lower trims was one of the actual bulbs, but in the Limited it was the LED strip?

There's a simple way to program this if Chrysler would only do it. Have a "Lights out" mode that is available in the Settings. This would turn off all exterior lights. The lights would be returned to normal when a set speed is reached (maybe 12 mph?). This would accommodate drive-in movies, parades, etc.

 

If you want them permanently off and assuming there's a separate lead to that light you could always unplug it and make sure it's waterproof so it doesn't corrode. I would almost bet you though that they run it through a module in the headlamp assembly. That's a little tougher

 

That would not be a good idea as the led signature light strips which are your night parking lights would never work. When you change signature lights from "present yes to no" they still function and work as normal when the vehicle light settings are set to park, on, or auto. You have complete and full control of them at this point rather than them turning on, and staying on, the moment you push the run button.

 

I can tell you that beginning in 2023, RU will now have the option to turn off signature lighting. I know this does not help prior model years and I am not aware of a plan in place for those prior years. I write the lighting service info and can confirm the change is coming.

 

I have a 2022 Pacifica and often have had to sit on a cold night in the parking lot of a vet's office and having those annoying lights on. Just found out that if you set the light switch to off and push the parking brake button the lights turn off!!!

 

Switch the lights to off and then go to Vehicle on the dashboard screen select Lights and go down to Daytime running lights and turn off

Yeah, that doesn't work on MY21-22. We are not talking about headlights we are talking about the signature halo lights.

If you first make your change by setting the signature lights present to "no" you might be able to then set the additional setting "CBC Features: DRL Lamp Location" to "Dedicated".

If the "signature light" is really just on the dedicated DRL circuit (but renamed for marketing?) then this should set the signature light as the DRL with a section in the UConnect menu to turn it off and on.

They have nothing to do with the DLR setting in the Uconnect system.

For what ever reason the halo lights are listed in the BCM as:

This is correct I just did it. Use the parking break while light is all the way left in off position: problem solved

 

Did something change for 2022?

The other day....it was night time & I left my van on/running (Hybrid) to run into the store, and switched the headlights from Auto to Off before I hopped out.
And the DRL/halos weren't on......the lights (outside) were completely off

 

I believe DRLs are on when you are in drive. When you shift to park, they are off. That is how I remember it for the Canadian DRL system.

 

I own a 2022, Pacifica. Yes, it was miserable driving through the Christmas light display. I felt disrespectful with not being able to shut my lights off.
