That was my goal, but the more I talked to folks it's not possible on the 2017 hardware in the Pacifica even when attempting to cross flash a firmware from a 2017 Charger, Challenger, or 300 due to a VIN check in the firmware. I also learned that the 2018 hardware of the Pacifica they changed from Harman to Panasonic and different USB connections.

I would just pop your screen out and get the part number off of it. Then search that part number.
I did that, and did end up ordering one that has the same part number on it. There were a ton more that had a similar part number, supposedly from the same year/same model. So just wondering how to determine if the other one would work as well in case the one I'm getting (hopefully soon) doesn't work. Or, since it's the same exact part number, if/when it dies too.
Mine did not indicate JBD or JB2 though.

This happened on my factory installed 10.1 shortly after purchase. Several Power cycles corrected the issue. Does the screen on/off button do anything?

I figured out my issue. I need to re-program the car (BCU?) with an OBDGenie. Now to figure out which OBDGenie and/or if there is a way around on the reprogramming.
If you plan on spending $130 on an OBD Genie, I'd sooner take that money and use it on AlfaOBD and a compatible OBDII adapter (Like the OBD MX+). If I'm not mistaken, OBD Genie Is a one time use, one option only change (possibly with returns and core charges) to make a setting change that AlfaOBDcan do multiple times to unlimited vehicles and devices. Can you point to me why you think you need an OBD Genie? AlfaOBD can change all the BCM settings you'd need for an upgrade like this if it really is only a BCM setting.

No problem, the OBD genie works just like AlfaOBD except it's more of a scripted experience. It is programmed for each install to set the BCM settings requested by the seller. Here is a post I made recently about AlfaOBD. You could always start cheap with an OBDII adapter and return it if it doesn't set the codes you need. I'll do some digging and see if I can find the setting you need in my app.
FYSA, I forgot that someone who repairs these had "decoded" the Anti-Theft Code for Panasonic radios. I'm curious if your Anti-theft code followed the same guidelines ( I think the 10.1s are back to being manufactured by Harman)?I have a 2017, initially with RA4 7", then past few years 8.4" UAV.
Today I upgraded to the 2021 Uconnect5 10.1” UBN screen.
Installation went well:
I tried dozens of time all reset types I could think of:
- Radio powered on in locked mode (asked for code)
- I entered the code (once) and then screen went black. Never asked for code again.
I am stuck in a very odd state:
- Unplugging the battery (or fuse 76) + wait 30min
- Car On/Off/Acc with&without open/close door
- Toggle “screen off” button [nothing happens]
- Hold Power/Volume button for 30s [nothing happens]
- Dealership mode (temp up/down + front frost) [nothing happens]
The only exception to get out of this is a power reset (fuse 76 or battery disconnect), which then allows me to go in ACC mode, and get:
- Screen 100% black aside from events below
- Backup camera works (displays on screen)
- AC works (using AC buttons displays feedback icons on screen, ex: temp up/down/mode/fan/...). Whole screen is black but the 1 icon displayed at a time (temp/mode/fan spee).
- Splash screen shows up when car turns off (no splash screen when turns on)
- Dealership mode doesn't work (neither screen buttons or hardware buttons enable it)
- Boots Uconnect in "Locked Mode" with expected Uconnect splash screen.
- I get a few menu options, with 90% of them being locked (some A/C functions are available via touchscreen). Couldn't find a reset option.
- Dealership Mode turns on if I do hardware enable, though within 2-3 seconds gets reverted back to Locked Mode
- Only 1st time did it allow me to enter password to unlock. Now it just says turn car on to unlock.
- If I turn car to RUN, this mode goes away and I'm stuck with the black screen until the next battery disconnect.
After more research, I believe what I need is the reprogrammed. One way to do so seems to be an OBDGenie device ~$130, though I am unsure which one. I will update this post when I figure it out, unless someone knows/has it?
