Does anyone know why the driver side LED strip in the headlight is not working? The low & high beams work fine in that headlight, just the LED strip is not working.

Is this a joke?I am here as a shop owner to post the solution to this thread. As I was chasing a customers vehicle woth the same problem. There is a ground to the taillights underneath the left rear bumper. It's a 10mm bolt. Pull it off, clean it, put it back on. Waaala!!!
Did you ever find a fix? I have a 2021 as well, and half of the passenger strip is out.Lots of good stuff here... and great research!
Do we think this is all pretty similar for 2021+? As I mentioned earlier in the thread, half of my LED is out as it appears there are two "units" that must run in order to work.
Nope, I haven't. I even turned on the DRLs now because I hate how it looks with just the led strips on where one is only partial. If I knew I could acquire a used part from a junkyard or something I'd pay someone to do it but not sure that hassle (and cost) is worth it.Did you ever find a fix? Bummer.. I have mine turned off on my 2018, (slightly different style than yours) to save them. I selectively turn them on during certain driving or weather conditions. I suggest you do the same when you get them fixed, they are under the "lights" menu through the radio screen.my wife's Pacifica was less than 2 years when we bought it used and the LED strip on the top driver side went out four months after we bought which was last summer and the other one on the passenger side went out today. I called the warranty department right after we bought it on the first one went out on the driver side and they told me they don't replace them because they're considered maintenance but told me they were supposed to be rated for a 30 year lifespan I said well It definitely didn't make that... if that's the case then they should replace them when they go out in such a short time. Our van is not even three years old yet. I've probably seen at least 15 or more Pacifica running around with the led strips out on top just in the area where I live and I've seen even more when we go to Florida on vacation every summer so you know that this is a problem, but they get away with it.
For the 2021+, that option only turns on/off the headlight bulb as the DRL. The LED strip is always on regardless of setting. I think someone mentioned you could disable them altogether but I'm pretty sure that required a dealer tool and their cooperation. I love the look of having the DRL set to off with just LED strip but can't stand the mismatch so I turned my DRL back on to help mask it.Bummer.. I wasn't aware of the Durango lawsuit or the headlight/LED DRL options on the newer Pacifica's. I'm not sure how involved you want to get with it but there is software (about $50) you can purchase for a PC laptop along with associated connecting cables (total investment less than $100) that should allow you change some systems configurations you'd otherwise have no access to, this may help. Isn't there a law suit about the durango taillight issue with the same thing happening? I think it had to do with moisture though.
Their is an app called AlfaOBD that will allow you to set the DRL location to one of several lights as well as disabling the signature lighting (LED strip) completely if one is burned out.For the 2021+, that option only turns on/off the headlight bulb as the DRL. Heat kills the halos. I turned mine off immediately. They only turn on when I turn the lights on at night now. They are also never on when the vehicle is parked and running. For the 2021+, that option only turns on/off the headlight bulb as the DRL. The LED strip is always on regardless of setting. Just popping into this thread to say this fixed my LED light as well! I got part number 147000015100 off ebay for about $70. Had to take the entire front bumper off, which wasn't that difficult. Watch YouTube if you are unsure of how to do it. You don't even have to take the entire assemly out just pop it out enough to flip over and install the new module. And now it works again! Took me maybe 30 minutes.Well, as promised, following up, and with good news - my LED strip is FINALLY FIXED! Thanks again @Greyrock, wouldn't have been able to do this without your guidance. NOTES:So, TLDR: If your LED Strip is out, but it flickers quickly several times when you start the vehicle or turn on the headlights, the above may be your fix---for under 20 bucks.
- As per my plan, I first tried only the Headlight Ballast Control Module (Part Number = 147000015100) tested, and it worked!
- I'd still had the LED DRL Headlight Ballast (Part Number = 6002TP0105) ready to go, but ended up not needing it. May send it back to the seller for a partial refund.
- The bumper removal and entire process took all of 1 hour, and I didn't have my power drill charged or it could have been much quicker honestly. There were no gotcha's based off the YouTube videos out there on getting to the headlight. Also, I had no screws or clips laying around after the job, so that is a testament of how painless and easy it should be!
Excellent! I'm just waiting for the cooler weather here in Virginia Beach to do the Halogen to LED strip DRL upgrade on mine. I have all the parts and documentation (video also) to do it.Just popping into this thread to say this fixed my LED light as well! I got part number 147000015100 off ebay for about $70.
